Sludge dewatering
Sludge dewatering is the final step of the wastewater cleaning technology. Its goal is to reduce the water content of the sludge.
It is needed because:
- only the sludge with adequate dry solids content can be utilized or deposed
- during dewatering the dry solids content increases, the volume of sludge decreases proportionally, therefore transport and disposing costs decrease too
- negative environmental impact during transportation and disposing can be decreased too
Sludge can be dewatered with the following, most common technologies:
